Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel considers that hasty decisions concerning Ukraine and Georgia can do harm to all participants of the negotiations. She stated on the eve of the NATO summit in Bucharest.
Germany is not against Ukraine to obtain MAP, but the conditions in the country are not conducive to this at present.
According to Angela Merkel, NATO doors are opened for Ukraine. But Ukraine must reach political consensus that means that the most part of the population of Ukraine must show their attitude concerning joining NATO.
German officials think that nothing will happen if Ukraine waits for a year or two.
