President met with PM, Naftogaz Board Chairman

President Viktor Yushchenko met on Friday with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Board Chairman Oleh Dubyna to hear Mr. Dubyna’s report on latest gas agreements between Naftogaz of Ukraine and Russia’s Gazprom. President’s press office reports.

Participants of the meeting affirmed that the agreements correspond with the earlier results of talks of February 12, 2008 between President Viktor Yushchenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin as well as with President Yushchenko's directives for Ukrainian delegation's talks with Gazprom:

• In 2008 Ukraine will by buying gas at 179,5 US Dollars for one thousand cubic meters
• Commercial middleman companies shall be removed from Ukrainian gas markets

At the same time there are questions remaining unresolved and subject to settlement in nearest time between Ukrainian and Russian respective companies and governments namely:

• The balance and prices for the imported gas after 2008
• The conditions and procedures of Gazprom’s daughter enterprise activity at Ukrainian gas market
