Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko doesn’t exclude that he will declare his decision about possible participation in the elections of Kyiv’s mayor after the Verkhovna Rada takes a decision concerning the acting Kyiv city chairman Leonid Chernovetsky. He stated on Wednesday at the press conference in Kyiv, answering the journalists’ question.

“As soon as the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine takes its decision, I will tell about my decision,” Lutsenko said.

As earlier reported, the government has taken a decision to send a submission to the President Viktor Yushchenko concerning the discharge of Chernovetsky from the post of the Kyiv’s mayor, as well as all materials concerning this case.

16 members of the government voted for the discharge of Chernovetsky and 5 members abstained from the voting.

The government addressed the parliament with the request to consider the question on early election of the mayor of Kyiv and the Kyiv council.

Besides, the Cabinet addressed the Prosecutor’s general with the request to investigate the activity of the Kyiv city authority, and to discharge the acting city mayor, if there are reasons.
