The bases of the European parliamentarianism which exist in the European Union must act in the Ukrainian society too. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated in Brussels after the meeting with Secretary General of the European Council, supreme representative of the European Council on foreign policy and security policy Javier Solana.

As the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reports, answering the journalists question on his assessment of the opposition’s actions, relations between the opposition and the acting coalition in the Ukrainian parliament, the speaker has said: “The aim of the opposition is to criticize the government, watch the government, make statements in the parliament from the name of the opposition, but not to bloc it”. At the same time, Yatsenyuk considers that the aim of the coalition is “to acquire the force, which is necessary for corresponding changes to appear in the society and to be responsible before those voters, who had elected members of the coalition”.
