Head of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine Viktor Baloha has stated about his withdrawal from the “Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense” party.
As the press service of the President reports, the statement of Baloha says: “I announce about my withdrawal from the “Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense”. This is thoroughly considered and final decision.
I think that all effective possibilities, connected with my membership in the OU-PSD are fully exhausted. My withdrawal removes the question of correlation between my duties as the head of the President’s Secretariat and member of the OU-PSD presidium. All possible speculations concerning my role in party processes will be stopped”.
Baloha thanked all his party colleagues for the things they lived through and did, and expressed a belief in the “ability of Our Ukraine to remain a powerful, influential, and authoritative political force”.
Baloha also noted: “In spite of circumstances my participation in political processes will be always connected with Yushchenko as a person, and a man of high principles and noble goals”.
