President Viktor Yushchenko met today with the deceived investors of the Elita-Center Investment and Construction Group. President's press office reports.
During the meeting the President informed that he had charged the Internal Ministry to work out in a three day term a list of all victims of the fraud. Also, according to President’s instructions, a governmental commission will be called up, which will examine all possibilities to help the deceived such as finding necessary funds in the state budget.
Mentioning that according to the legislation the state is not responsible for private companies not meeting their engagements with citizens, V. Yushchenko stressed however that in this particular case the state is positive to renew social justice. He also expressed assurance that the guilty will be delivered up to Ukraine.
After meeting with Elita-Center victims, the President also communicated with the supporters of Leonid Chernovetsky who are picketing the Secretariat of the President. He explained his vision of the Elita-Center problem resolving to them too saying that to his mind implicating politics with that situation is inappropriate.
