The Communist party of Ukraine will vote for People’s deputies’ immunity cancellation only in case of simultaneous cancellation of the President’s immunity. Leader of the CPU Petro Symonenko stated at the press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
“If we carry struggle against corruption, then representatives of the strong capital must be included in the organs of power, and secondly, the question on immunity cancellation of all categories, the President, representatives of the judicial branch of power and the People’s deputies, must be solved,” Symonenko said.
He noted that the CPU proposed to cancel immunity of all categories of officials long time ago.
According to Symonenko, cancellation of only People’s deputies’ immunity will not help to overcome corruption.
