President Viktor Yushchenko met today with the head of “Lytvyn’s Bloc” faction Volodymyr Lytvyn, president's press office reported.

During the meeting the officials discussed legislative incentives of the faction including those regarding land legislation. While sharing Block’s concerns about potential problems before Ukrainian farmers if land is freely sold to domestic and foreign land tycoons V. Yushchenko noted that further preserving of the current situation shall only aggravate land relations.

President asked V. Lytvyn and his Bloc to actively participate in drafting land legislation which would help to develop a civilized land market. V. Yushchenko also expressed his expectancies that the faction shall take constructive position regarding the law on Cabinet of Ministers, introducing amendments to the law “On local self government in Ukraine”, as well as introducing amendments to the law “On local state administrations”. President considers the adoption of these laws is urgent for balancing relations between President, parliament and government.
