Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyrya held a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Ilkka Kanerva, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. Government's press office reports.

During the meeting the sides discussed bilateral cooperation and cooperation of the states in the framework of the OSCE, in particular, their role in solving frozen conflicts of the region.

“I know the importance of Ukraine’s role in solving frozen conflicts of Europe,” Ilkka Kanerva stated.

“We really appreciate your contribution to this issue”.

In his turn, Hryhoriy Nemyrya assured Ilkka Kanerva of comprehensive support of Finland’s initiatives while presiding over the OSCE.

The Vice Prime Minister informed Ilkka Kanerva about priorities of the new Cabinet and the matter of the Government Action Program “Ukrainian Breakthrough: for People, not for Politicians”.

“This is the first Government Program which reflects philosophy of the European integration, first of all, as a priority of home but not foreign policy,” Hryhoriy Nemyrya said.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland expressed his support for Ukraine’s rapprochement with the European Union and invited Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko to visit Finland in the immediate future.
