During 2007 249 miners were killed in Ukrainian mines, according to state industry supervision press service.
In total 15 group accidents happened in mines in 2007, 5995 miners were injured, 249 were killed, including 19 miners who died from cardiovascular diseases.
Level of injury and fatal accidents increased by 58% in comparison to previous years.
In 2008 state industry supervision will take extra measures in order to intensify supervision for industry security and protection of labour at coal enterprises.
