On Tuesday evening President Viktor Yushchenko attended Kyiv Central Synagogue on the occasion of Hanukkah, president's press office reported.
President expressed his respect to Jewish community in Ukraine and reaffirmed that Ukrainian State shall always be safeguarding cultural and spiritual needs of every single national minority.
V. Yushchenko wished the present happy holidays and appealed to everybody to praise the Lord and each other on this bright day. He also took part in solemn kindling of the lights of Hanukiah, (Menorah with eight candles). President participates in celebrations of Hanukkah at Kyiv Central Synagogue for sixth year in a row.
