On December 10 President Viktor Yushchenko received credentials from Yaroslav Bashta, Ambassador of the Czech Republic and Merab Antadze, Ambassador of Georgia, President’s press office reports.

During his conversation with Ambassador of the Czech Republic President expressed his intention to pay an official visit to the Czech Republic in the second half of 2008. Yushchenko and Bashta also discussed possible visit of Miloslav Vlcek, the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies in the Czech Republic Parliament to Ukraine as well as visits of Karel Schwarzenberg, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mirek Topolanek, the Prime Minister.

With the Ambassador of Georgia President discussed the political situation in Antadze’s country. Yushchenko positively evaluated trade and economic relations between our countries noting that during 2007 commodity turnovers risen by 53% compared to 2006. Officials also reached an agreement that in the first quarter of 2008 celebrations ending Year of Ukraine in Georgia shall take place.
