Foreign Minister of Ukraine is ready to carry out consultations with all factions of the Verkhovna Rada concerning his possible election to the post of the VRU speaker. He stated on the air of the First National TV on Sunday evening.
According to Yatsenyuk, these consultations will be carried out if the OU-PSD faction officially takes a decision to nominate him to post of the VRU speaker.
“To my mind, under any conditions we should hold talks with all factions. I’m ready not to report, but to have a talk with al factions,” Yatsenyuk stated.
Yatsenyuk explains that the VRU speaker is the person who must consolidate the parliament and organize its work for the legislative branch to be really a branch of power. “The speaker can’t be a chairman of only one part of the VRU, he can’t be a person who has narrow-purpose political interest,” he said.
Earlier, BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko informed on the air of the “1+1” channel that on Tuesday, December 4, at 9 a.m. meeting of the BYuT faction with Arseniy Yatsenyuk would take place.
