Ukraine, the Council of Europe and the European Commission mean to realize a joint project "Support to good governance: Project against corruption in Ukraine" (UPAC). The session of the project ruling group with the participation of the Justice Ministry of Ukraine, Council of European and European Commission representatives sat in Kyiv Thursday, Cabinet's press service reports.

According to deputy Justice Minister Inna Yemelyanova, chief executors of the program are the Justice Ministry, Secretariat of President, Security Service, National Security and Defense Council and Prosecutor General Office.

The project is aimed at assisting in realization of the approved plan for combating corruption and monitoring of the corruption situation and anti-corruption policies in Ukraine, implemented by the Group of States against Corruption GRECO.

The program will promote implementation of a series of international documents, to which Ukraine joined during the recent years, including the UN Convention Against Corruption, the Council of Europe Criminal and Civil Law Conventions.

Ukraine joined GRECO in 2006, having ratified the Civil Law Convention on Corruption.
