The reason of accident in Zasyadko mine on November 18, with death toll of 100 miners, was “serious growth of coal extraction rates.” The member of governmental commission on investigation of accident reasons, People’s deputy Mykhaylo Volynets said. At the same time, he noted that nobody else in the governmental commission supported his opinion.
According to Volynets, average daily mining in Zasyadko mine comprises 8.5 thousand tons. At the same time, in similar neighboring mine, coal extraction comprises 4.5 thousand tons. He has stated that equipment allows to extract such amount of coal, but technically it is impossible, and informed that miners confirmed that at eve of accident sensors of methane level exceeded the norm.
In Zasyadko mine, people’s lives are not taken into consideration. Zasyadko mine has only that it earns, so it strives to increase coal extraction, according to Volynets. He stands for state control and support for Zasyadko mine.
As a reminder, on November 18 at 3.11 a.m. gas explosion had happened at the coalmine named after A. Zasyadko in Donetsk region. The explosion happened as a result of blast of aeromethane mixture in 14th conveyor drift while boring. Death toll is 100 miners.
