About 300 people continue cleaning coastline of Tuzla Island from oil products leaked as a result of Russian tanker “Volganeft-139” during the storm on November 11 in Kerch channel.

According to press service of main department of Emergency Ministry of Ukraine in Crimea, about 350 tons of oil products together with sand and algae have been already collected. About 4 kilometers of coastline (10-60 meters wide) are polluted. “Collected oil products will be transported and utilized to the territory of Russia,” rescuers said.

Today additional technical equipments are delivered to the island (excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks).

The rescuers also continue seeking for missing seamen of wrecked ships.

As a reminder, on November 11 the heavy storm became a reason for accident in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov: about twenty ships were shipwrecked. As a result of catastrophe, about 2 thousand tons of black oil leaked in to the sea and about 7 thousand tons of sulphur are underwater in sank ship.
