Member of the ‘Our Ukraine - People’s Self-Defense” bloc Roman Zvarych states that newly elected People’s deputies, who will not take an oath on November 26, must to resign their mandates.

“The People's deputies, who will take the oath untill November 26, must to resign their mandates,”  Roman Zvarych said. He has emphasized that such actions are foreseen by the Constitution of Ukraine.

“The Constitution stipulates the deadline for opening the first session of the new parliament. That is 30 days after the official promulgation of the election’s results. The results were promulgated on October 25. Therefore, November 25 is the deadline for the parliament’s opening,” the bloc’s member noticed.

He has also reminded that according to the Constitution, “People’s deputies who refuse to take the oath, lose their mandates”.

“The Central Election Commission has to register the next People’s deputy candidate from the party’s or bloc’s list instead. Thus, on November 26 the VR of the sixth convocation begins work, and this will be the last day for People’s deputies registration. After that they will be considered to be the ones who lost their mandates for they hadn’t signed the oath”.
