President Viktor Yushchenko asks to take urgent measures to liquidate the aftermath of natural disaster, occurred on November 11, 2007 in the Azov and Black Seas, which led to the shipwrecks, destruction of transmission facilities and other objects of life support of the population.

As the press service of the State's Head reports, Yushchenko has asked Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych to establish a special committee to coordinate relief and rescue efforts in the storm-hit regions, to involve central and local authorities and the Emergency Situations Ministry in these operations and allocate funds to deal with the aftermath of the disaster.

Also, the President of Ukraine charged Yanukovych to take under his control the environmental threats in the regions suffered from the storm, especially at the Kerch Strait and to ensure that Ukrainians receive necessary and objective information about the relief and rescue operations.

The President on Sunday instructed the governors of Ukraine’s southern and southeastern regions and the head of the Sevastopol administration to take measures to restore infrastructure and maintain calm and order in their regions and provide temporary accommodation, food and medical aid for storm victims.
