Since time of its independence Ukraine has passed hyperinflation at 11182% to deflation of 0.6% in 2002. President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko said that today at the Cabinet session concerning prices for food, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.
“Policy in pricing sphere was also different, including total misunderstanding between budget, fiscal, monetary processes and wish to control state funds,” he said.
According to Yushchenko the power must regulate the situation on the price market.
He noted that for last three years the power could not reach one level of inflation. The President considers that this year inflation growth evokes worry. “Prices for food increased by 12.4%, for services - by 8.7 % for last nine months,” Yushchenko noted.
Yushchenko considers that if there is such problem on price policy in Ukraine, power must discuss four key aspects to solve this problem. According to him, these aspects are customs policy and its efficiency; work of different spheres of economy; budget fiscal policy; monetary policy.
