President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko met with acting chairman of Dnipropetrovsk administration Viktor Bondar and discussed a question on liquidation of gas blast consequences taken place on October 13 in block of flats in Dnipropetrovsk. The main topic of the meeting was assistance to victims of gas blast and liquidation of consequences of emergency situation.
Bondar informed Viktor Yushchenko about assistance to victims. They got about UAH 150 million on their personal accounts, it was a compensation for lost flats. According to Bondar, the State totally pays for living in hotels, food and provides with clothes. “People will have the State support until they buy new flats and all necessary facilities,” he said in his report.
Bondar also informed that the “Dniprogas” will provide Dnipropetrovsk regional hospital with medical equipment for emergency, urgent help and tragic accidents.
Bondar noted that the school where session of headquarters and liquidation of the accident, provision victims with help, food, clothes took place, will get material assistance for reparation and new equipment.
“Everything that depended on power was done,” he said.
He also said that on the place of destroyed block of flats a church would be built .
