Today the last stage of 34th session of General conference of UNESCO starts in Paris. Voting for resolution on recognition of Holodomor 1932-33 in Ukraine as genocide of Ukrainian people is on agenda. ForUm informs, referring to newspaper “Kommersant-Ukraine”.

At the same time the ambassador of one of the western European countries to Ukraine informed that in final text of the resolution there would be no word “genocide”. Being afraid of worsening of relations with Russia, representatives of left political forces support changes of the resolution. Meanwhile right party and Ukrainian experts stand against such corrections.

According to Foreign Ministry, official Kyiv agreed with corrections in resolution and absence of word “genocide”.

Ukrainian delegation at General session of UNESCO is headed by first deputy Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko. “We will try to do everything possible to world community know about this crime. We faced with resistance on world arena but it is impossible to rewrite history,” Ohryzko said.
