Ukraine stands for creation of one European area of security. The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko said that today at the session of Council of Defense Ministers of South-East European countries in Kyiv.
“We proceed form one fundamental and key principal of integrity of European area of security,” Yushchenko said.
According to him, only on the basis of this principle it is possible to create effective model for decision making in security sphere. The President noted that Ukraine’s contribution to European International security would be active, mass and consecutive.
Yushchenko stated that Ukraine was ready to join Multi-national peaceful forces of South-East Europe. The President noted that Ukraine’s participation in south-east European Multi-national team would contribute to strengthening of stability in Europe.
Addressing participants of the session, Yushchenko called them to discussed wide complex of issues. In particular, these problems are “frozen” conflicts, counteractions to international terrorism, illegal distribution of weapon and other issues on security. According to him, answers to these issues may be consolidation and union of all national and regions efforts.
