The State Security Service (SBU) exposed organizers and executors of the act of vandalism over Ukrainian national symbols on Hoverla mountain in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The SBU chairman Valentyn Nalyvaychenko stated.

According to him, the crime was committed by three young men: Savin Leonid(resident of Ukraine), Bovdunov Olexander Mantrov Valery (residents of the Russian Federation. They were forbidden Ukraine for five years since 2006). They are members of the Yevroaziyska Spilka Molodi (ESM) - (Eurasian Youth Union – ed.), the organization banned by Ukraine’s court.

According to report of the SBU, criminals climbed up the Hoverla hill where they destroyed Ukraine’s national Emblem and draw the ESM emblem on the memorial to the Ukrainian Constitution. Criminals made video and photographs of their vandal actions. After that they left Ukraine by train.

Hoverla is the highest mountain peak in Ukraine.
