One of the BYuT leaders Mykola Tomenko is convinced that only adoption of Election Code can contribute to professional representative of legislative body. He said that, analyzing new composition of the parliament. According to Tomenko, the VRU of VI convocation is characterized by all disadvantages of the former convocations.
“System of closed and non-transparent formation of party lists led to negative tendency of non consideration of social, regional, demographic, gender, professional and other full-valued representative of Ukrainian society in legislative body,” he said.
Now priority of new parliament must be provision of qualitative composition of the VRU. According to Tomenko, it is possible to achieve only by means of reformations of election legislation and adoption of integral Election Code. “Not the party leaders but the society must influence the parliament composition,” he said.
