Ukraine and Poland will arrange new rules of border crossing on October 17, which will be active after Poland joins the Schengen zone (January 1, 2008), Cabinet’s press office reports.
In its variant of the agreement Ukraine insists on Poland's granting the right for visa-free regime in the frontier regions for those citizens, who reside in districts bordering on Poland (within 50 km of the borderline).
The similar scheme has already been arranged with Hungary, which is also joining the Schengen Treaty. The Hungarian authority will issue plastic cards to Ukrainians.
