Ukraine and Germany will step up cooperation in the use of renewable energy sources and energy saving. An agreement to this end was reached Wednesday at negotiations between Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko and German Minister for Economics and Technology Michael Glos, which were held on board a ship in the Black Sea in the vicinity of Odesa, Cabinet's press office reports. 

As the German Minister said following the talks, Germany was ready to share technologies and its experience with Ukraine within the framework of working groups, which would work in joint projects in different spheres.

According to Yuriy Boyko, energy cooperation with Germany will be implemented within four projects: project of readjustment of the heating system of Alchevsk, reconstruction of the two power units at the Trypillia and Zmiyivka heating power stations, drawing German companies and financial resources for realization of joint projects in Ukraine and Ukraine's transportation of fuels to Germany.

The Ministers discussed Germany's side participation in enlargement of the gas transportation system of Ukraine and development of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline.
