The registration procedure of Ukrainian citizens abroad requires a number of conceptual amendments, Foreign Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said after visiting polling station № 93 of the overseas election constituency in New York City, USA. According to the Minister, Ukrainians staying in other countries must be entitled to consular registration via the Internet, Cabinet’s press office reports.

Yatsenyuk believes that this should apply also to registration for participation in the elections. He said that the voting day turnout at the foreign election constituency is some 10 percent on the average, which is accounted for by the requirement to submit in person all the documents for consular registration and in case of personal data modifications.

The polling station № 93 is expected to see the voting by Ukrainian citizens living in the states of Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

115 polling stations abroad will be created ahead of the September 30 parliamentary elections in Ukraine. Their voting lists, according to the Foreign Ministry, include over 420,000 individuals.
