President Viktor Yushchenko on Wednesday spoke at a ceremony to swear in newly appointed judges, praising their role in the country's progress and future, President’s press office reports.
Yushchenko said Ukraine’s judiciary was “ineffective” and added that it was a “big risk to be an honest judge today." He said the country needs judicial reforms to uproot corruption and pledged to ensure its re-elected parliament pass laws to make such reforms faster.
