Yesterday presentation of documentary film “Mother and Stepmother”, author of which is BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko, took place in one of Kyiv cinema “Ukraine”.
During the film Tymoshenko travels through Naples and communicate with Ukrainians who work there illegally. “Mother and Stepmother” is a sharp documentary research about life of Ukrainian arbeiters abroad.
The film was made on the basis of well known story of Vasyl Stephanyk “Stone cross.” “In case, now every person, living abroad, sets such stone cross, whole Ukraine will look like a churchyard,” Tymoshenko said.
The main idea of this film is that our land is a mother; the foreign land is a stepmother, but unfortunately now Ukraine cant be call a real mother for its people.
Film authors intended to find out how life of Ukrainian emigrants has changed.
For today about 5-7 million of Ukrainians (3-4 million of which are illegal workers) seek job abroad.
