Serhiy Parashyn, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, held a press briefing on Tuesday and assured reportersStorage for Spent Nuclear Fuel 2, which will soon be built at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, would be used to store “nothing but the spent fuel from the CNPP.”

He said more than twenty donors of this project were unlikely to agree to change its statusto allow other nuclear stations touse thisstorage facility.

On September 17, the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the American energy technology company Holtec International signed a deal to build Storage for Spent Nuclear Fuel 2, as President’s press office reports.
