President of European Committee Jose Manuel Barosso claims about the support of European Union to Ukraine on its way of reforms, which will be implemented after the early parliamentary elections. Such statement was published on Thursday in Brussels.
“In two weeks people of Ukraine will vote at the early parliamentary elections. The country will be faced with important challenges in advancement of political and constitutional stability. European Union will support Ukraine’s every step, as well as the development of more tight relations with EU,” the statement says.
Also, according to the European Committee, the forthcoming summit is the possibility for EU “to underline its support in continuation of political and economic reforms in Ukraine”.
Portugal’s Prime Minister Jose Socrates, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana, EU Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Portugal’s Foreign Minister Luis Amado and other esteemed guests will represent the European Union during the summit.
Its participants are expected to discuss European, regional and international issues, especially how to develop Ukraine’s ties with the European Union.
