The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) recommends Ukraine to improve the norm of election legislation on voters’ registration, who go abroad. Reporter of the PACE in Ukraine Hanne Severinsen stated.
According to Severinsen, the present legislation in its present form contradicts norms of the international law. “Registration of Ukrainians, who leave Ukraine before the elections, greatly restricted their right of vote and breaks the right on movement. This norm of the law on election should be reviewed,” Severinsen said.
“The best variant should be found which will correspond to the standards of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe”, Severinsen emphasized.
