Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, opening Cabinet’s session on Wednesday, has promised to suggest President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko to cancel immunity, as well as all benefits, of the People’s deputies, members of the Government, the President, and judges, ForUm’s correspondent reports.
The PM said that journalists had “caught” him before the session of the Cabinet of Ministers. He is astonished that journalists do not worry about the situation in economics, social sphere, but they worry about immunity.
“If it is so, if it is a top priority question, let’s solve it… There are People’s deputies who have authorities now, let’s address the President and make a historical event: let’s call People’s deputies by the beginning of September, before the elections and vote for the immunity cancellation, and benefits as well, of all officials, including the Prime Minister, Ministers. Do you agree or not,” the PM addressed the Ministers and got an affirmative answer.
