Viktor Yushchenko on Monday met with Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus in Crimea, President’s press office reports.

Their talks focused on how to develop Ukraine’s ties with Lithuania. Yushchenko praised dynamic economic relations between two countries.

The Ukrainian leader described an energy summit, scheduled to be held in Vilnius on October 10-11, as a “very important continuation of the dialogue started in Krakow.” Yushchenko said Ukraine’s priority was to build an energy corridor connecting the Caspian region and Europe and added that his country had plansto export electricity to Lithuania.

The two leaders also spoke about European issues and recent developments in Ukraine.
