The CPU collected already 3.7 million signatures in support of national referendum on President Viktor Yushchenko’s resignation. The CPU leader Petro Symonenko said in an interview.

According to him, communists in the VRU of new convocation by all means will submit proposition on necessity of such referendum.

“Aim of signatures collection is to show that this idea has people’s support. And during next presidential elections that will be soon, nobody will believe that “these hands have never stolen” (quotation of Yushchenko- ed.)," Symonenko said.

He also noted that after parliamentary elections CPU intends to initiate referendum concerning joining NATO and status of the Russian language.
