From August 2, 2007 the financing of the early parliamentary elections will be started. Representative of the President in the Central Election Committee Maryna Stavniychuk stated at a briefing on Wednesday, ForUm’s correspondent reports.
“From August 2 the financing of the early election will be started,” she said.
According to Stavniychuk, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in early July introduced changes into the State budget and in the law on People’s deputies’ elections, which will come into force from August 2.
The representative of the President of Ukraine in the CEC noted that for today “practically all” decisions of courts had come into force concerning unconstitutionality of the VRU. “On condition of judicial conformation of unconstitutionality of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the financing of the elections must be coincided with the beginning of the election process,” she said.
Besides, Stavniychuk emphasized that the President’s Secretariat hopes that the election process will be normal. “The President is sure that the CEC will start its work from August 2,” she said.
