From the middle of August and till the day of the elections 60 long-term observers from OSCE will work in Ukraine. 30 groups, consisting of 2 persons, will work in all the regions of Ukraine. Just before the elections the main group of observers, about 600 persons, will arrive to Ukraine. It is still unknown, who will head the pre-election mission of OSCE in Ukraine.

According to senior election adviser Jill Saphi, the fact that Ukraine holds early elections for the first time, will not influence the observers’ work. One of the most important tasks of the mission will be the verification of recommendations of OSEC fulfillment. The organization will also be interested in changes of the election legislation, approved by the parliament, and their influence on election processes.
