Mariinsky palace is being reconstructed. Reconstruction will last up to 2011. After it Mariinsky palace will be “transformed” into Ukrainian White house, where the Head of the State will not only work and receive official visits but also live.
Reconstruction works of the palace will cost at least UAH 174 million, ten million of this sum will be allocated from the state budget; the rest will be given by sponsors.
Quarter of the century ago is the last time the Mariinsky palace was reconstructed.
