The Government is going to ensure the stability of hryvnya’s exchange rate. First vice Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Mykola Azarov told journalists on Thursday.
"Currency exchange rate is one of our biggest achievements. It will be stable," he said.
He also informed that the Government often holds consultations with the National Bank of Ukraine, “UNIAN” reports.
On April 2005 the National Bank of Ukraine held revaluation of hryvnya. The NBU from April 21, 2005 established official exchange rate of hryvnya to American dollar at the rate of UAH 5,05 for USD 1, which is 14 copecks higher, than it was in April 20, 2005.
For today the NBU still holds the exchange rate of hryvnya at the rate of UAH 5,05 for USD 1.
The Finance Minister also added that the economy is stable, the population's incomes are increasing, and macroeconomic indicators are improving despite the current political crisis in the country.
