
On July 26, at 4:00 a.m., special train with tanks filled with yellow phosphorus set off from Lviv region to Kazakhstan assisted by two fire trains. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Protection of Population from Chornobyl Accident Consequences stated.
For today the situation in the area of emergency situation is under control, “UNIAN” reports.
According to the affirmed plan, works on re-cultivation of the polluted territories are being held. Three parts of a dam with the total length of 40 meters and height of 1.5 meters have been installed. Works on collection of phosphorus and cleaning of polluted water are being continued. About 47 tons of polluted mixture has already been collected.
Over 400 square meters of polluted territories have been cleaned. According to the results of monitoring of environment (air, water, soil and plant) no efficiency deviations were registered.
A total of 109 people are receiving hospital treatment in Lviv region. Among them there are 20 children.
The population is constantly informed about the situation at the place of the accident and measures, which are being taken for the liquidation of the accident consequences.
The Government commission, headed by vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Anatoliy Kuzmuk, continues its work.
