Monitoring informative center of the European Commission offered help to Ukraine by means of expertise on consequences for environment after accident in Lviv region. Barbara Helfferich the representative of the EC said.

“Monitoring informative center offered Ukraine to make expertise on consequences for environment. Ukraine considers this proposition now,” she said.

The EC representative noted that the EU is ready to submit Ukraine another help, in particular to grant planes, hospitals and means of firefighting, in case Ukraine makes corresponding request.

“We can act if there is a request. Unless we do not have such request, we must consider that situation is under control of Ukrainian power,” she noted.

She also noted that the EC keeps in touch with Ukrainian power. Speaking about accident, she noted that now the main problem is phosphorus cloud. “Clouds do not admit any boundaries. They can move to Poland, Romania,” she said.
