Foreign Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner discussed the preparation of new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the EU, and the questions of Shengen visas issuance to Ukrainians. As the representative office of the EU in Ukraine informs, these questions were discussed during the meeting in Brussels on Tuesday.

The sides noted the achieved progress during the negotiations, and came to a conclusion that the new agreement would lead the bilateral relations to the new level of development, “UNIAN” reports.

In turn, the European Commissioner claimed that the EU supported Ukraine’s joining WTO. “It will help to conclude an agreement about the free trade area,” the Commissioner said.

During the bilateral meeting the question on visa system also was discussed.

Yatsenyuk expressed his hope that the European Commission will interfere in this situation settlement before the ratification of agreement on visa system and the readmission between Ukraine and the EU.

According to Yatsenyuk, during the meeting the sides agreed that the quick ratification and implementation of signed in June agreements will be for the benefit of Ukraine and the European Union as well.
