President Viktor Yushchenko told reporters in Hungary on Wednesday he had dismissed Chernihiv Governor Mykola Lavryk and Mykolayiv Governor Oleksandr Sadykov to better organize the work of Ukraine’s local governments, President's press office reports.
“This is a normal process and I want there to be no guesswork discrediting my staff policy,” he said, calling yesterday’s dismissals “clear and obvious.” (Lavryk has resigned and Sadykov has been appointed deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council).
Yushchenko said he sought “more perfect” solutions to resolve regional challenges. “This is the process of perfection, not the problem of this or thatperson,” he said, thanking Lavryk and Sadykov for their work.
