Secretary General of the Council of Europe Terry Davis is convinced that it is necessary to make changes to the Constitution of Ukraine. He told in an interview to UNIAN, the ForUm’s correspondent informed.

I am convinced that it is necessary to complete gaps in the Ukrainian Constitution,” he said.

At that Davis called Ukrainian authorities to listen to recommendations of the Venice Commission while introducing changes to the Constitution.

As a reminder, on July 3 deputy Secretary of the Venice Commission Thomas Markert declared about readiness to assist Ukraine in changes introduction to the Constitution. According to him, the Venice Commission in particular is concerned about imperative mandate, enhanced authorities of the Prosecutor General’s Office and some gaps in authorities among main branches of power.
