President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko intends to continue research of his genealogical tree in order to prove that he is a descendant of the last ataman of Cossack Sich (camp) Petro Kalnyshevskiy. Yushchenko said that yesterday during the meeting with Russian journalists.
“There are no two generations on my geological tree. I traced it up to 1737. Two more generations are needed to get information about Kalnyshevskiy.
According to Yushchenko, evidence of his belonging to Kalnyshevskiy generation are kept in Saint Petersburg archives. Archives has letters of Petro Kalnyshevskiy with his brother Nechiper Kalnyshevskiy-Yushchenko.
