President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko followed norms of the Constitution and acting legislation while signing decree on provision of realization of people’s election rights, legality and transparency of election process during early elections. The deputy head of the President’s Secretariat Maryna Stavniychuk told today, commenting corresponding President’s decree, the ForUm’s correspondent informed.

“The President insists on elections must be held on the basis of Constitution and laws of Ukraine. That’s why he has signed this decree today,” she noted.

Stavniychuk noted that President’s decree of July 4 is issued with purpose to confirm Ukraine as democratic, social, legal state, to strengthen trust of the people to power, to create appropriate conditions for people to elect on September 30 and to provide democratic and fair elections to the VRU by means of free will of citizens.

As a reminder, today Yushchenko has signed  a decree to ensure that early parliamentary elections in Ukraine are fair and transparent.
