People’s deputy from the Party of Regions faction Mykhaylo Chechetov considers that the Constitution, which is made only by the Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers or the President’s Secretariat, can’t be adopted. He told that in an exclusive interview to the ForUm’s correspondent.
He considers the position of Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych absolutely right, according to whom the Constitutional commission must be formed on the base of the VRU, the members of which will be representatives of the VRU, the Cabinet of Ministers, the President’s Secretariat, and the specialists on Constitutional law. “This people should come to single understanding of the document philosophy and the procedure of adoption,” the former People’s deputy emphasized.
Then, according to Chechetov, this document must be discussed widely with the participation of the mass media. Only after this the document should be sent to the new parliament, where the procedure will be completed.
“The adoption of such document will facilitate in the country’s unity, community consolidation, and democratic processes development in Ukraine,” Mykhaylo Chechetov told.
