President Victor Yushchenko and his family on Saturday attended Sir Elton John’s concert in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, President's press office reported.
Played by one of the world’s most celebrated singers, the free concert to raise HIV/AIDS awareness took place in Independence Square and was watched by hundreds of thousands of people.
The opening ceremony was attended by ministers, business leaders and artists.
Accompanied by First Lady Kateryna Yushchenko, President Victor Yushchenko has visited PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv to view an exhibition of Sir Elton John’s collection of photographs.
The exhibition opened on Friday, a day before the musician’s concert.
Elton John’s visit to Ukraine has been organized by Olena Franchuk’s ANTIAIDS Foundation.
