UNO calls Ukraine to pay much attention to ecology concerning process of national development and international integration of the State. The report “National ecology policy of Ukraine: estimation and development strategy” prepared by experts of UNO development program in Ukraine together with the Ministry of Preservation of the environment, and represented today in Kyiv, says.

According to the report, environmental problems are of the secondary importance when they are considered in the state budget and state strategic programs. Low priority of ecologic constituent in national programs scares away foreign investors and is a significant barrier of attraction of big funds from international resources,” the report says.

Permanent coordinator of UNO, permanent representative of UNO development program in Ukraine Francis O'Donnell, taking the floor at the presentation, declared that despite numerous ecologic laws, decrees and resolutions, Ukraine still had not such profound document on national policy, in particular doctrine on environment. According to him, this report offers Ukraine the whole structure of policy implementation and defines key priorities for the State.
