A Ukrainian delegation will participate in a session of the EU annual forum "For Future of Democracy" on June 13 to 15 in Stockholm, Sweden, the Justice Ministry's press service told.

According to Deputy Justice Minister Leonid Yefymenko, who will attend the forum, the participants will discuss problems and challenges of democracy in Europe in the context of guaranteeing human rights, part of the opposition, its responsibility for political decisions, part of parliaments and democracy and promotion of democracy, the Cabinet’s press office informs.

Delegates of the Council of Europe member-states, representatives of governments, local authorities, scientists and public figures will be participants of the forum. Similar conferences will be held annually in different countries. In 2009 the forum will take place in Ukraine.

The forum "For Future of Democracy" was established in 2005 by the Council of Europe to strengthen political freedoms and public society and information exchange. The forum cooperates with the Venice Commission and other institutions within the Council of Europe.
